Thinking about the future of XML
May 29th, 2011When thinking about the future of XML (extensible markup language), you really have to understand the past so that you don’t forget where you or it came from. Even though XML is just a tool really, it has become a tool that is used extensively in today’s coding efforts. The XML format has come to be either the default for many programs that we use on a daily basis or has at least had a major impact on them. When looking into XML, you absolutly must review Unicode, API’s, and everything else that has either come from XML or has had anything to do with it since it was started in 1996.Additional information can be found at http://www.hyperwrite.com/Articles/showarticle.aspx?id61. These are all things that are far too in depth for me to get into here so I’ll leave the investigative work to you the reader. While XML has become the preffered format for many programs used today, I personaly believe that in the future it will evolve. It will most likely go from being preffered, to being the standard in all computer processes. I would even expect that at the rate things are going we will even start to see this taught in high schools world wide.
